Abstract

Chinese growth systematically challenges global order and democratic development in third-world countries. Economic development has been a trade-off that the west uses to improve and endure democracy in less developed countries. This research report comprises two methods to capture the themes and political trends research essay and word could programming. The research essay will implement international relations and business theories on the trade war. International relation mainly constitutes realism, neoliberalism, constructivism and a balance of power to articulate world superpower behaviour. These theories unpack a phenomenon when there is an imbalance of power shifts. However, the complication of the interrelationship between FDI and foreign policy of the big countries affects FDI entry decisions. FDI, by definition, is to move assets across physical borders to exploit new opportunities in their countries. International business is to analyse the trend of FDI by looking at entry strategy, mercantilism, and country similarities. On the other hand, world cloud analysis provides first-hand information entry to research. World Cloud illustrates a picture of problems by collecting tweets from social media, Twitter. The tweets are data collection procedures for text mining and seeking out which word is the most commonly used and indicating which Twitter account is the most active. The two methods complement each other in that word cloud would not acquire meaning since it only appears in words, while the research essay establishes common sense and awareness of problems and makes sense of those individual words. This research report finds that the trade war has an interrelationship with China, the US, the Chinese internal conflict, and the Covid-19 pandemic. The trade war is the consequence of economic competition between China and the US, while the west intervenes in Chinese internal affairs by offering a "safe haven" immigration policy to help Hong Kong residents move overseas and mishandling Covid-19 causes uncertainty in the US leadership.
