Abstract

Colleges and universities are the core bases of talent cultivation, and the level of higher education is closely related to the development of economy and technology. In recent years, China's investment in higher education continues to increase. The Yangtze River Delta, as the region with the highest level of higher education in China, plays an important leading role in the construction of colleges and universities. Therefore, this paper constructs a scientific and reasonable indicator system to quantify and predict the higher education level of the Yangtze River Delta, which can provide guidance for the construction of Chinese universities. This paper first determines seven indicators to measure the future development of higher education in the Yangtze River Delta from three aspects of schools, teachers and students. Based on the data of the seven indicators from 2013 to 2020, time series analysis is carried out, and AR autoregressive prediction model is established to obtain the prediction values of the seven indicators from 2021 to 2027, thus illustrating the future development trend of higher education in the Yangtze River Delta.
