Abstract

Chronic pancreatitis (CP) is a common digestive system disease in clinic, manifested as in flammatory injury of pancreatic parenchyma and pancreatic fibrosis, and there is lack of specific treatment. However, traditional Chinese medicine can effectively improve clinical symptoms. Based on the main syndrome characteristics of CP, Chaihu Formula have been widely used in the treatment of CP with positive effect. Chaihu Formulae belong to the formula group of "Chaihu Decoction". The formulae of this class are based on Xiaochaihu Decoction, with refined drug selection, rigorous formulation and accurate drug dosage. This paper reviews the application, efficacy and research progress of Chaihu Decoction (Xiaochaihu Decoction, Dachaihu Decoction, Chaihu Shugan Powder and Chaihu Guizhi Decoction) in the treatment of CP in recent years.
