Abstract

American cultural exchange has always been the focus of academic circles, with remarkable achievements, but there is still almost nothing in American Buddhist cultural exchange during the Republic of China. The Republic of China was an important period for the cultural exchange of Buddhism between China and the United States. There were frequent exchanges of Buddhism between China and the United States. Many American Buddhist scholars and believers came to China, which set off the upsurge of "seeking scriptures from the East". It is an American version of Xizang's pilgrimage to the West. Buddhist sutra has been extensively translated in the United States, and Buddhist scholarship has made great progress in the United States. At a time when the country was weak and the people were weak, the Chinese worshiped foreign languages and Buddhism was not appreciated, Americans greatly appreciated and admired Chinese Buddhism.
