Abstract
The purpose of this paper is to explore the importance of career planning and career education for contemporary college students. With the rapid development of society and the economy, the employment situation is becoming increasingly complex and competitive. College students are facing intense pressure in choosing their future careers. Therefore, it is necessary for them to have a clear understanding of themselves and their future career prospects, and to develop a systematic and comprehensive career planning strategy. The paper will first introduce the concept of career planning and career education, and then analyze the current situation and challenges of career planning and career education for contemporary college students. Finally, the paper will supply some effective ways for college students to plan their careers and suggestions for further improvement of career education in colleges and universities.
