Application of WPBL Teaching Method in Vascular Surgery Nursing Teaching

Abstract
Objective: To observe the effect of WPBL teaching method in nursing teaching of vascular surgery. Methods: A total of 74 practice nurses in vascular surgery from May 2022 to August 2023 were selected as the subjects of this study and randomly divided into a routine group and a study group, with 37 cases in each group. Traditional teaching method and WPBL teaching method were given, respectively, and the assessment results, teaching effect, and teaching satisfaction of the two groups were compared. Results: The overall teaching satisfaction in the study group was 97.3%, which was significantly higher than that in the conventional group (83.78%), and the difference between groups was significant (P<0.05). The teaching effect scores of the two groups were analyzed and compared, and the study group was higher than the conventional group (P<0.05). In the comprehensive assessment scores (theoretical scores and practical scores), compared to the conventional group, the study group was higher and had a difference (P<0.05). Conclusion: The traditional teaching mode mainly focuses on teaching nursing knowledge of vascular surgery to nursing students. In education, insufficient attention is paid to developing practical skills and other abilities, which fails to fully engage nursing students and affect their enthusiasm for learning. To a large extent, it will neglect the cultivation of the comprehensive ability of nursing students. However, this study chose WPBL teaching method to teach nursing students in vascular surgery and found that it can not only improve nursing satisfaction but also further strengthen the current teaching effect, strengthen the grasp of theoretical knowledge, achieve the cultivation of practical operation ability of nurses, and improve their comprehensive quality.
