Abstract

The power transfer process in Kazakhstan is innovative, and it is accompanied by political reforms. Nazarbayev has carefully planned the transfer of power to ensure a smooth transition in Kazakhstan. As of January 9, 2022, he voluntarily handed over the chairmanship of the National Security Council to Tokayev, marking the completion of the power transfer. This article explores the process of power transfer in Kazakhstan from a historical and practical perspective. The power transfer is divided into three stages: the preparatory activities initiated by Nazarbayev, the consolidation of power, and an analysis of the reasons behind Kazakhstan's "gradual" power transfer. In this way, we can gain an in-depth understanding of Kazakhstan's development process and accurately perceive its new development trends. This is important because Kazakhstan's power transfer and domestic political security not only affect the implementation of the "Belt and Road Initiative", but also have a negative impact on the security of my country's northwest frontier. It will also impact the formulation of relevant policies in our country.
