Abstract

In light of the progressively complex and intricately interwoven food supply networks, coupled with the perpetually evolving and multifaceted foodborne threats, the act of safeguarding the dietary safety of Americans has unequivocally become increasingly pivotal. This scholarly article thoroughly explores the nuanced current status of food safety within the borders of the United States, meticulously delineates the primary and most effectual strategies adopted to ensure stringent food safety and uncompromised quality, and comprehensively illuminates the multifarious challenges and viable opportunities inherent in robustly fortifying food safety initiatives in the future trajectory. Through an exhaustive, methodical study of prevailing regulations, groundbreaking technological advancements, and multifaceted consumer behaviors, the complex, layered nature of food safety management, alongside the imperative of adopting a consistently holistic approach from the initial farm stage to the consummate dining table, is deeply and thoughtfully explored. Consumer behavior and pivotal food safety awareness were rigorously analyzed utilizing meticulously crafted questionnaire surveys. Notably, the survey results strikingly indicated that a notable 24.72% of participants firmly believe that a palpable lack of food safety awareness amongst consumers actively contributes to prevalent food safety issues.
