Abstract

Under the current social environment, the fertility intention of Chinese youth has become an important factor affecting national and social development. Especially in Guizhou Province, due to its unique geographical, economic, and cultural background, the status quo and influencing factors of childbearing age youth's fertility intention have their own particularity. Through questionnaire survey, this paper analyzes the current situation and influencing factors of childbearing age young people in Guizhou Province, and puts forward specific suggestions to promote social stability and sustainable development. Survey data show that the fertility intention of urban childbearing age youth in Guizhou Province is signifi-cantly lower than that of rural childbearing age youth. Specifically, only 25 percent of young people of childbearing age who participated in the survey in urban areas indicated their desire to have children. In rural areas, 35 percent of the 1,000 young people who also participated in the survey said they wished to have children. This statistical gap is significant. This phenomenon can be related to a variety of factors. In modern society, work pressure is an important factor affecting the willingness of young people of childbearing age to have children. The young people of childbearing age in Guizhou Province are facing severe employment situations and workplace competition pressure. They need to build a stable career in a short period of time to guarantee financial independence and quality of life.
