Abstract

Glioblastoma (GBM) is the most common malignant and aggressive tumor. Despite integrated treatments such as robot-assisted surgery, radiotherapy, and chemotherapy, the treatment of GBM is inefficient due to the high metastasis rate and drug resistance of GBM. Therefore, to explore the molecular mechanism of GBM is rather urgent. Non-coding RNAs (ncRNAs), including more than 200 long non-coding RNAs (lncRNAs) have been provided that ncRNAs can play any role in tumor proliferation and apoptosis. In the past, we found that linc01579 regulates miR-139-5p by competing with EIF4G2 to regulate GBM cell proliferation and apoptosis. In this research, we utilized Real-time Quantitative Reverse Transcriptase Polymerase Chain Reaction (qRT-PCR), RNA Binding Protein Immunoprecipitation Assay (RIP assay), and luciferase reporter gene assay and found out linc01579, let-7 and Bcl-xL has differential expression in GBM cells. Moreover, linc01579/let-7/Bcl-xL pathway may be correlated with the biological characteristics of GBM patients, this study reveals a novel molecular pathway in the tumorigenesis and progression of GBM.
