Abstract
Physical education plays a vital role in school education, significantly influencing both the physical and mental health of students while fostering their social adaptability and teamwork skills. Emphasizing a student-centered educational approach, the importance of physical education cannot be overstated. The selection of teaching methods directly affects the ability to engage students and the overall effectiveness of instruction. This paper examines the reform of table tennis instruction in ordinary colleges and universities through various strategies, including health-focused and enjoyable teaching, interactive teaching, layered instruction, and a "dual-line hybrid" teaching model. These strategies aim to address challenges such as inadequate facility resources, limited teaching materials, and a lack of diversity in instructional methods, which currently impede effective table tennis education. By implementing these innovative approaches, this paper seeks to enhance students' interest, participation, and proficiency in table tennis, ultimately improving the overall quality of physical education in colleges and universities.
