Abstract
This study explores the use of symbols and narrative in Chinese folk dance choreography, using the Mongolian dance "Children of the Country" as a case study. By interpreting the symbolic elements, including action components, costumes, props, and music design, we analyze its narrative structure and cultural significance. Research indicates that "Children of the Nation" integrates traditional Mongolian dance symbols with modern choreography techniques, resulting in a distinctive artistic image and emotional expression. The work employs multi-dimensional symbols, such as horse imagery and sacrificial rituals, etc., to construct a richly layered narrative framework that conveys the essence of Mongolian culture and the patriotic sentiments of contemporary youth. This symbolic narrative approach not only preserves national culture but also imbues the work with contemporary relevance. "Children of the Nation" serves as a source of inspiration for the innovative development of national folk dance, demonstrating the vitality of traditional culture in a modern context.
