Abstract

The large-scale expansion of enrollment in higher vocational colleges has brought about a new era for vocational education. The active promotion by national policies has led to the continuous expansion of enrollment scales in higher vocational colleges, resulting in a notable diversification of the student source structure. The diversification of the student source structure, resulting from various admission types and the differing educational backgrounds of students, has triggered changes in the demand and supply structures of higher education, posing significant challenges to the traditional single-mode talent cultivation approach. This study utilizes the admission data and academic record changes of students from the School of Architectural Engineering at Shenzhen Polytechnic University. By analyzing the types of student admissions and academic status changes, this study explores the impact of the diversification of the student source structure on teaching management in higher vocational colleges and identifies the existing issues in the teaching management process. Finally, based on the findings, the study proposes strategies for improving the teaching management mechanisms in higher vocational education. This research aims to provide new insights for enhancing the quality and standards of teaching management in higher vocational colleges and to offer guidance and reference for promoting educational reforms and improving teaching effectiveness.
