Abstract

Medical ethics, as an interdisciplinary field, is undergoing a new stage of development in response to the rapid advancement of medical science and changing societal needs. This paper aims to explore the historical mission of medical ethics in the current social context, analyzing its significance in areas such as medical practice, research ethics, and public health. By reviewing the development history of medical ethics and considering the progress of modern medical technologies, this paper argues that medical ethics should not only focus on the rights and interests of individual patients but also on the overall health and welfare of society. Furthermore, the paper emphasizes the importance of integrating ethical considerations into medical decision-making processes, ensuring that advancements in technology do not compromise ethical standards. It also highlights the role of medical ethics in addressing contemporary challenges, such as health disparities, access to care, and the ethical implications of emerging technologies. Ultimately, this research seeks to provide a comprehensive understanding of medical ethics as a vital component in promoting both individual and societal well-being in the evolving landscape of healthcare.
