Abstract

Objective: To explore the effect of continuation care on pelvic floor rehabilitation training compliance in patients with postpartum stress urinary incontinence (Postpartum Stress Urinary Incontinence, PSUI). Methods: 70 PSUI patients admitted to the gynecology clinic from June 2023 to September 2024 were divided into an observation group and a control group by a random number allocation method. The control group provided routine care, including health education, pelvic floor muscle rehabilitation training (Pelvic Floor Muscle Training, PFMT) guidance; the observation group added continuous care on this basis, including reminding PFMT through WeChat, pushing science articles, and regular follow-up. Compared the pelvic floor muscle rehabilitation compliance questionnaire, the effect of urinary incontinence questionnaire brief form, and the pelvic floor muscle Oxford muscle strength classification after 3 months of enrollment. Results: 67 patients, 33 observation group and 32 control group, 3 were lost to follow-up. The mean daily PFMT duration, mean daily PFMT frequency, and self-rated PFMT adherence were better in the continuation care group than in the usual care group (P < 0.05). IIQ-7 scores were significantly lower after treatment in both the continuation and usual care groups, and the decrease was more significant in the continuation care group (P < 0.05). The magnitude of pelvic floor muscle strength enhancement in the continuation care group was higher than that in the usual care group (P < 0.001). Conclusion: The application of continuous care in PSUI patients can better improve the compliance of patients' pelvic floor rehabilitation training at home, enhance the rehabilitation effect, and significantly improve their quality of life, with a high clinical application prospect.
