Abstract

Female college students encounter hurdles in career development, and the family environment is crucial for their psychological resilience and career exploration. However, current research hasn't fully clarified the underlying influence mechanisms. Understanding this link is essential for promoting their growth, and this study aims to fill this gap. A qualitative case study was carried out. Five female college students from different family backgrounds were selected. Semi-structured in-depth interviews were conducted, covering family environment, growth experiences, mental states, and career plans. The transcribed data were analyzed via thematic analysis. Key themes about family environment, psychological resilience, and career exploration were extracted through coding and categorization. The family environment has a substantial impact. Economic status can shape career motivation. Harmonious parent-child relationships boost psychological resilience, facilitating career exploration. Democratic educational styles and good-quality companionship contribute to better psychological resilience and more definite career goals. These results offer theoretical support for improving family education, college career guidance, and social support for female college students.
