A Study on the Alienation Logic and Resonance Path of University Students’ “Dazi” Social Phenomenon from the Perspective of Critical Theory of Social Acceleration

Abstract

As a lightweight and practical mode of friendship, “Dazi” socialization has become increasingly popular among young people, serving as a typical model of accelerated interaction in modern society. Hartmut Rosa’s Critical Theory of Social Acceleration helps reveal the alienation logic of university students’ “Dazi” social patterns under the backdrop of accelerated societal development. Specifically, technological advancement, accelerated life rhythms, and rapid social changes have led to the disembedding of social spaces, fragmentation of time, and crises in individual identity. The alienation of university students’ social patterns results in multiple dilemmas: weakened real-world connections, superficial life experiences, and suspended behavioral values. This study proposes a “resonance” framework from the perspectives of spatial presence, temporal coupling, and value overlap to resolve alienation challenges, aiming to guide students in establishing healthy and positive social relationships.
