About the Translator
An Shengxi, a Doctor of English Linguistics, serves as an English lecturer at Guangdong Ocean University. She conducted a one-year research program as a visiting scholar at the University of the East in Puerto Rico, USA. Dr. An has authored the English monograph titled “Formal Semantic Analysis of Possessive Relations in Modern Chinese.” This translation constitutes a phased outcome of the Doctoral Startup Project at Guangdong Ocean University, entitled “A Comparative Study on Possessive Relations in English and Chinese Sentence Patterns” (Project Number: 102002/R20084).
An Fengke, holding a Ph.D. in English Language and Literature, serves as an associate professor at Guangdong Ocean University, a standing director of the 8th Council of the Guangdong Translators Association and a director of the 10th Council of the Guangdong Foreign Language Society. Publications include the translated work “Without France, There Would Be No America” and the English monograph “Event Semantic Analysis of Adverbial Adjectives in Modern Chinese.” He has been recognized with the Excellent Award in the English Translation Category of the 4th “Ruyi Cup” International Translation Competition on Chinese Culture and the Excellent Award in the 4th “Volcano Cup” Post-Editing Competition. Furthermore, he was honored with the title of “Outstanding Mentor” in the 2nd “Ocean Cup” International Translation Competition. This translation constitutes a phased achievement of the Guangdong Ocean University Doctoral Startup Project titled “Event Semantic Analysis of Predicative Adverbials” (Project Number: 102002/R20054).
