About the Translator
Dr. Lingqian Zheng, is an Associate Professor at the College of Foreign Languages, Minjiang University, and Supervisor of Master in Translation Studies at the School of Foreign Languages, Fuzhou University. She was also a visiting scholar at the Middlebury Institute of International Studies at Monterey, USA. Dr. Zheng received her bachelor’s degree in English from Xiamen University, dual master’s degrees in interpreting and translation from Xiamen University and the University of Westminster (UK), and a Ph.D. in Interpreting Studies from Sichuan University.
She serves as Executive Vice President of the Fuzhou Translators Association, a council member of the Fujian Translators Association, a specially appointed foreign affairs translator for Fujian Province, and was a member of the editorial board of the international journal Translating China (2016–2020). She has been recognized as a high-level talent in Fuzhou and a member of “Mindu Scholars”.
Dr. Zheng has led over ten research projects funded by the Ministry of Education, provincial social science foundations, municipal-level departments, as well as one university-government collaborative project with the Fuzhou Foreign Affairs Office. She has also participated in multiple national and provincial-level projects, and supervised three undergraduate innovation and entrepreneurship projects. She has published over 20 academic papers, and has authored two monographs in translation studies.
Her honors include the Youth Excellence Award in the 15th Fujian Provincial Awards for Outstanding Achievements in Social Sciences; Third Prize in the 4th Fujian Provincial University Faculty Teaching Innovation Competition; First Prize in the National Semifinal of the FLTRP Teaching Contest.
