Translator’s Reflections

Dr. Zhang Fang is an associate professor and Deputy Dean at the School of Literature and Media, Dongguan University of Technology, where she has been teaching and conducting research for over twenty years. She holds a Ph.D. in Applied Linguistics and is specialized in the area of Science and Technology Translation. Her academic interests also include testing and assessment of translation, with a focus on evaluating translation competence in professional settings as well as the washback of important translation examinations.

A certified translator and experienced interpreter, Dr. Zhang Fang has worked extensively with government departments, international organizations, and academic institutions, providing high-quality translation and interpretation services. She has acted as PI in multiple national-level and provincial-level research projects and has published numerous articles in top-tier translation and language journals. Her work is known for its accuracy, clarity, and cultural sensitivity, making complex technical content accessible to international audiences.

She is also actively involved in translation education and assessment, designing translation training programs and developing standardized tests for translation certification in China. Her passion for bridging cultures through language has made her a respected figure in both academic and professional translation communities.
