This book provides a comprehensive introduction to the philosophical essence of Chinese traditional maritime culture, aiming to reveal the essential characteristics and profound origins of this culture. Chinese traditional maritime philosophy is built upon an organic view of the ocean, which in turn derives from the organic natural philosophy. It emphasizes the holistic and spontaneous nature of things, as well as the coordination and collaboration within and across entities. Moreover, Chinese traditional maritime philosophy is not just a speculative construct but is deeply grounded in the practical realities of the survival and development of coastal communities over thousands of years.
